Android guide to setup AOL mail

1 Open your Email application from the menu, add a new account and choose 'Other'.

If you do not have an account yet, you can start setting up right away. Otherwise, open 'Settings' in the email app and choose 'Add account'.

2 In the next screen enter your account details and click on 'Login':

Email: your AOL email address
Password: your AOL email password

3 Choose imap and enter the following details under 'Server incoming mail':

imap server: imap.aol.com
Security type: ssl
Port: 993

4 Your account is now ready to use.

Congratulations, your account is now set up. Open the email app on your smartphone to use your email.

  • I have been using the Blue Mail app for 3+ years. I changed my password for one of my five AOL email accounts and now I cannot get it to work on Blue Mail. I completely uninstalled app and reinstalled. Can add my other 4 AOL accounts but not the one I changed the password on. Before anyone asks, yes, I am certain I am entering the new password correctly.

  • Cannot send emails. Followed instructions but message reads "Couldn't establish connection to server due to untrusted or invalid certificate." Can you advise?

  • I fixed my phone email problem by deleting the account under the settings, accounts, email, then adding a new account, email, and setting it up again. Instantly everything worked right again. & BTW, the default outgoing port was set to 587, I had tried switching it to 465, didn't help, but after re-installing the email account, it had set it to 465. Now all works well.

  • Until two weeks ago my android phone was able to receive and sendAOLl emails. Now it receives incoming but will not send outgoing emails. The settings I have for SMTP.AOL.COM server are Port 465; Security type SSL/TLS accept all certificates; Requires Sign in. I tried port 587 as suggested but the problem remains. Please advise corrective action. Thanks you

  • For incoming AOL you have to use: pop.aol.com SSL with port 995. You will need to select the manual configuration, otherwise it will keep trying to use imap for incoming. For outgoing use the default smtp.
